The foundation is a (c)(3) charitable organization under the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible in the United States.

Funding opportunities are typically identified by the foundation and its supporters based on the three pillars of necessities, emergencies, and opportunities. While we welcome inquiries, we do not have a formal grant proposal process.

Gene Sarazen (born Eugenio Saraceni) (February 27, – May 13, ) is one of only five golfers (along with Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Tiger Woods) to win all the major championships in his career, the Career Grand Slam: U.S. Open in , , PGA Championship in , , , British Open in , and The Masters in Sarazen is a quintessential American success story, who rose from the ranks of the caddies to become one of the greatest golfers in the world, and then who rose again from a long, mid-career slump to once again achieve greatness, winning his second U.S. Open and third PGA championships ten years after his previous victory. Known as "The Squire," Sarazen was considered one of the gentlemen of the game,and one of its greatest competitors. His father, Federico Saraceni was a carpenter who moved to America with the hope of making a fortune. It is surprising that Sarazen, born Eugenio Saraceni, became a professional golfer, not only because of his short stature of five feet, five inches, but also because his Italian immigrant parents knew nothing about the game and did not live near a golf course. His father, Federico Saraceni, was a carpenter from Italy who had immigrated to New York with his wife, Adela, a homemaker. Sarazen had one sibling. To help support the family, Sarazen began cad-dying at Larchmont Country Club at age eight when his mother found out that a neighbor's son made good money caddying there. At Larchmont and later at Apawamis Country Club he started practicing golf, and learned from the amateurs on the course.

Gene Sarazen, whose real name was Eugenio Saraceni, was born in the small town of Harrison, in southern New York State, in At the age of 10, Gene began playing golf, but he couldn't afford a personal coach, so he taught himself the game, making plenty of mistakes along the way. However, these mistakes would prove to be valuable lessons for the future.

In his teenage years, Gene started to train harder, which helped him win the PGA Championship in This victory surprised many of his peers, as he wasn't considered a leading contender due to the presence of golf stars like Walter Hagen and Bobby Jones, both of whom were older than Sarazen.
