Veteran Malayalam poet-lyricist S Ramesan Nair passes away at 73
In the next two decades, Nair wrote songs for nearly films, including popular ones like &#;Raakuyilin Raagasadassil&#;, &#;Kuruppinte Kanakkupushtakam&#;, &#;Aadyathe Kanmani&#;, &#;Aniyan Bava Chettan Bava&#;, &#;April 19&#; and &#;Aniyathipraavu&#;. Some of his noted songs include &#;Oru Rajamalli&#;, &#;Aniyathipravinu&#;, &#;Mayilay Parannuva&#;, &#;Onnanam Kunninmel&#;, &#;Aavaniponnunjal&#; and &#;Manju peyyana&#;.

He has also written dozens of songs for Hindu devotional albums. He was also noted for writing plays such as &#;Swathimegham&#;, &#;Alakananda&#;, &#;Shathabhishekam&#; and &#;Vikadavritham&#;.
In , he won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi award for his valuable contributions to literature and in , he won the Kendra Sahitya Akademi award for his collection of poems &#;Gurupournami&#;.
He is survived by wife P Rama, a retired teacher and writer, and son Manu Ramesan, a music composer.

കൊച്ചി ∙ കവിയും ഗാനരചയിതാവുമായ എസ്.രമേശന്‍ നായര്‍ (73) അന്തരിച്ചു. അർബുദരോഗബാധിതനായിരുന്ന അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് കോവിഡ് സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചതിനെത്തുടർന്നു കൊച്ചിയിലെ സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ ചികിത്സയിലായിരുന്നു. രണ്ടു ദിവസം മുൻപ് കോവിഡ് നെഗറ്റീവായിരുന്നു.
ല്‍ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ ‘രംഗം’ എന്ന ചലച്ചിത്രത്തിനു ഗാനരചന നിർവഹിച്ചാണ് മലയാളചലച്ചിത്ര രംഗത്തേക്കു പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നത്. തപസ്യ കലാസാഹിത്യ വേദിയുടെ സംസ്ഥാന പ്രസിഡന്റായിരുന്നു. ഭക്തിഗാനങ്ങൾ ഉൾപ്പെടെ അഞ്ഞൂറിലധികം ഗാനങ്ങൾ രചിച്ചു. തിരുക്കുറൽ, ചിലപ്പതികാരം എന്നിവയുടെ മലയാള വിവർത്തനവും നിർവഹിച്ചു.
ഹൃദയവീണ, പാമ്പാട്ടി, ഉർവശീപൂജ, ദുഃഖത്തിന്റെ നിറം, കസ്തൂരിഗന്ധി, അഗ്രേപശ്യാമി, ജന്മപുരാണം, കളിപ്പാട്ടങ്ങൾ, ചരിത്രത്തിന്നു പറയാനുള്ളത് എന്നിവയാണ് പ്രധാന കൃതികൾ. സ്വാതിമേഘം, അളകനന്ദ, ശതാഭിഷേകം, വികടവൃത്തം തുടങ്ങിയ നാടകങ്ങളും രചിച്ചു.
‘ഗുരുപൗർണമി’ എന്ന കാവ്യ സമാഹാരത്തിനു ലെ കേന്ദ്ര സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി പുരസ്കാരം ലഭിച്ചു. ലെ കേരളസാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമിയുടെ സമഗ്രസംഭാവനയ്ക്കുള്ള പുരസ്കാരവും ആറാം വെണ്ണിക്കുളം സ്മാരക പുരസ്കാരവും ആശാൻ പുരസ്കാരവും ലഭിച്ചു.
