デジタル・シングル「Life is Once」を5月に配信リリース。新体制での再始動の狼煙を上げたばかりのノクブラ（NOCTURNAL BLOODLUST）が、わずか半年でフィジカル盤をリリースする。それもこの間のデジタル・シングルは1曲も含まないオール新曲。それは自信の裏打ちでもあり、また彼らの進化を追求し続ける抑えきれない衝動の表出でもあった。新体制での今作の制作の内幕を中心に5人に訊いた。

－『The Wasteland』のリリースおめでとうございます。あまりにもあっという間にフィジカルのリリースまで果たして、見ているこちらが追いつかないぐらいのスピード感です。実際に辿りついての感情を教えていただいてもいいでしょうか。

Masa：怒濤の制作期間を経てって感じですね。ずっと曲作ってたんです。

－デジタル・シングルも合わせると制作は月1曲ずつぐらいのペースですよね。かなり缶詰になって進めたのですか？

Masa：わりとそうですね。コロナ期間を有効活用して。

－（笑）なるほど。昨年の12月にギターふたりを口説いていたところから、5月、7月、8月にデジタル・シングルを1曲ずつ出して、12月にはもうミニ・アルバム、と。

Natsu：たしかに、そうやって聞くと忙しいですね。

Valtz：あっという間だったなぁ。

Yu-taro：でも、1年も経つのかって感じだね。

－今回のミニ・アルバムは、先に出したデジタル・シングルを1曲も入れずに、全部新曲ですね。これはこだわりがあったんですか？

Masa：そうですね。配信は配信とあくまで区切って考えていたので、まったく違う新曲だけでいこうっていうのは前から決めていました。

－新体制になっていきなりハイペースな制作に入っていって、特に違和感なく進行できましたか？

Masa：まったく違和感はなかったですね。

－新加入のおふたりはいかがですか？

Yu-taro：全然大丈夫でしたね。

Valtz：同じです。

－音を合わせる期間を作るとか、どういう方向性でやりたいかみたいなミーティングみたいなものも特にせず、ですか？

Masa：ないですね。もう各々の音を作ってすぐレコーディングするっていう。

Natsu：強いて言えばその場その場で"こっちのほうがいいんじゃない？"っていうやりとりは結構していましたね。

尋：逆にディスカッションしたことって今までもあんまりないですね。他のバンドはわからないですけど。

－新体制になってすぐのリリースですが、実際に聴いてみるとそれぞれに高い次元で作り上げられた楽曲ばかりだなと感じました。制作はスムーズに進みましたか？

Masa：スムーズに進んだと思っています。

尋：もちろん悩みましたけどね。いつも通り悩んで作って。制作期間がずっと続いていたから、精神
