Xenophilius lovegood actor rhys ifans biography

Rhys Ifans was born Rhys Owain Evans on 22 July , in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.  His first language is Welsh.  He is the son of Beti Wyn and Eirwyn Evans.   

Ifans grew up in Ruthin, North Wales, and received his primary education at Ysgol Pentrecelyn, before attending Ysgol Maes Garmon, a Welsh language secondary school in Mold, Flintshire, where he sat his O levels and A levels.  

He also attended youth acting schools at Theatr Clwyd, Mold and trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. 

He appeared in many Welsh-language television programmes before embarking on his film career, as well as performing at the Royal National Theatre, London and the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester. 

He first came to prominence in the now cult Swansea-based film, Twin Town in which he played twin Jeremy Lewis, opposite his actor brother, Llŷr Ifans.  He went on to gain international exposure in his role as Hugh Grant’s slovenly room-mate Spike in the film, Notting Hill

Who is Rhys Ifans?

Rhys Owain Evans was born in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Wales, on 22 July – his zodiac sign is Cancer, and he holds British nationality. He’s an actor and film producer, with more than 80 acting credits to his name, while he’s probably known best for his portrayal of Dr. Curt Connors &#; aka The Lizard &#; in the science fiction adventure movie “The Amazing Spider-Man”. It was directed by Marc Webb, starred Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, and follows Peter Parker who’s become Spider-Man now that he’s been bitten by a strange spider; the movie won two of the 33 awards for which it was nominated.

    Rhys Ifans was born and raised in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Wales, the son of teacher parents, Beti Wyn (Davies) and Eirwyn Evans. He was educated in two Welsh language schools - Ysgol Pentrecelyn, where his mother taught, and Ysgol Maes Garmon. During his childhood, Ifans showed an interest in performing and attended youth acting school. He went on to train at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

    Ifans made his small screen debut as the host of Welsh children's TV show, Stwnsh. Various roles in theater and Welsh language television also followed. His breakthrough on the big screen came in the British hit Twin Town (), where he acting alongside his younger brother Llyr Ifans. More film success followed, notably as Hugh Grant's scruffy housemate in Notting Hill (). Other projects include Dancing at Lughnasa () , Little Nicky (), Enduring Love (), Elizabeth: The Golden Age (), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 () and The Amazing Spider-Man ().

    In , he played iconic British comedian Peter Cook in the TV film Not Only But Always (). His performance earned him an Emmy nomination and a BAFTA award for Best Actor.
