Sirisena Jayawardena (Edward Gunawardena) is a rich planter. His wife Emylin Jayawardena (Avanthi Aponsu) is a loving wife and a good mother. Rohan (Palitha Silva) Saliya (Ravindra Yasas) and Tamara (Anuradha Udayangani) are their children. Bandu is their servant. He is dumb. When Saliya applies for a job he meets with his father&#;s disapproval. Saliya makes a journey by train to attend his interview. Saliya&#;s train meets with an accident and this news frightens the Jayawardena family. When Rohan goes to the hospital he is shocked to find his brother, Saliya dead. His father Sirisena is a heart patient. Rohan is worried how he could break the news. Sirisena is hospitalised as the news of Saliya is delayed. Rohan decides to lie to his family saying that Saliya is OK and will come home anytime now.
